Our client’s style on this project was bold, fun and eclectic. The family had great personality and wanted a kitchen to match. They embraced colour, patterns and mixed medias to create a truly one of a kind and personal kitchen, that is just as beautiful as it is unique.
There were only a few requirements that had to be met on this project. The primary seating area had to be near the windows, there had to be an area where the family could write messages, and there had to be enough storage for the client’s extensive book collection.
With a large bench and a good amount of bookshelf space built right into the new island, two of these tasks were accomplished at once, in an elegant and simple way. The last was done by adding a framed, built-in chalkboard station in a high-traffic, yet out of sight, location.
