This young couple wanted a brighter, more open, and kid-friendly kitchen. Clean up would have to be easy, clutter would need to be kept to a minimum, and storage would need to be ample.
Drawers were utilized in favour of wall cabinets to create the open feeling that the clients sought after, as well as to create storage space that was more practical and easily accessible for kids and young people.
The parents also wanted a space that was more mature and private. This space was created in the adjacent dining room, tucked behind the kitchen’s fridge and pantry. The open space above the tall cabinets allows light and air to filter through, and create a point of interest in the relatively simple space.
